The classic Ubud day

An early start, so the famous gate photo happens in soft morning light — with the mountain almost to yourselves.

Sekumpul is the waterfall people remember longest, and it's also the longest walk in. After that, the viewpoints above the twin lakes and the temple that stands in the water.

Beaches through the afternoon, the cliff temple and the Kecak dance as it gets dark, then grilled fish on the sand afterwards.

Nusa Penida, the west side

Penida runs on its own schedule, and the crossing, the roads and the sites together need a full day. It doesn't fit alongside anything on the mainland.
